Also known as a “protest fraternity,” the members of the Tau Gamma Phi as well as their counter part, the Tau Gamma Sigma, are encouraged to strive for holistic growth and to involve themselves in different activities that will help build better communities. As one of the largest fraternities, the Tau Gamma Phi has become one of the most efficient organization contributing to the betterment of the society. As the Golden Anniversary fast approaches, different socio-civic activities are being done not only within the country but across the world.

With the theme “Tungo sa Ganap na Pagbabago,” the Tau Gamma Phi chose to celebrate its 50th founding anniversary on October 4 by doing a Clean Up Drive at Manila Bay. Thousands of its members are expected to gather at the Quirino Grand Stand, Manila Bay Rizal Gate, and Plaza Rajah Soliman.

  [embedyt] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NfrrHHCRWCo[/embedyt]     Tau Gamma Phi’s National Anniversary Committee, composed by its Metro Manila Regional Council, Triskelion Alumni Organization, and the UP Triskelions Alumni Inc., also organized an activity which will create another mark in the fraternity’s history. The event is an official attempt to form the Tau Gamma Phi seal with 25,600 participating members which may put the fraternity’s name in the list of Guinness World Records. A National Blood Letting campaign is also organized by the fraternity. By encouraging at least 20 members of each chapter, the fraternity aims to have 50,000 donors. Those who will donate will receive a certificate and a Tau Gamma Phi limited edition Golden Anniversary Baller ID.   The Tau Gamma Phi’s National Anniversary Committee also created the Triskelion Tree Planting campaign that is also part of their Golden Anniversary celebration. First 500 members of the Tau Gamma Phi and Tau Gamma Sigma and first 300 for non members gets free singlets for the run. After the fun run, a holy mass will be offered at the UP Sunken Garden. Aside from the activities organized by the fraternity’s Golden Anniversary committee, different chapters of the Tau Gamma Phi across the globe also organized their own local socio-civic activity.
