image image Before they are only 7 participating teams of Season 1 namely: Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), Judiciary/Supreme Court, Congress-LGU, PhilHealth, Department of Justice (DOJ), and MMDA. Now, the success and advocacy inspired both Malacañan and Senate to join the UNTV CUP Season 2. And now that Season 1 has ended, Fans of UNTV Cup are very excited because Season 2 will officially commence on February 11, 2014 at Smart Araneta Center.  More and more changes are given to each participating teams. Each team are given the privelege to get a maximum of two professional basketball (PBA) players for reinforcement but those PBA players should be retired for at least 5 years. Each participating teams are also given a chance to have a representative that will serve reporter which will be given a chance to air their reports live on TV. Not only that, In selection of charitable Institution, The players are free to decide what Institution and Each team will submit their chosen charitable Institution as their beneficiary for this basketball tournament. The champion will be given the privelege to have a One Million Peso (Php 1,000,000) grant to their beneficiary. While the runner-up will receive Five Hundred Thousand Pesos (Php 500,000), the third placer Two Hundred Fifty Thousand Pesos (Php 250,000) and the fourth placer One Hundred Fifty Thousand Pesos (Php 150,000) for their chosen beneficiaries. Prior to the game, each agency will be given a booth at the game venue, where our game audience may seek for the services of each organization. The UNTV CUP’s vision is to be a prime catalyst of a public service advocacy that will inspire and encourage public servants to join hands in helping the privileged members of our society through sports.
